Voorzitter van het Israëlisch Hooggerechtshof, Esther Hayut, vertelde op een internationale conferentie omtrent BDS dat een openlijke oproep tot een culturele, academische of economische boycot van een persoon of instelling alleen vanwege diens band met de staat Israël een burgerlijk onrecht is dat aanleiding geeft tot een onrechtmatige daad, berichtte de Hebreeuws-talige krant Makor Rishon.
Meer dan 200 advocaten uit Israël en de wereld kwamen voor drie dagen bijeen in workshops en lezingen op de eerste internationale conferentie van juristen tegen BDS, die deze week in Jeruzalem werd gehouden, om juridische en professionele instrumenten te bieden voor het aanpakken van ophitsing, boycots en delegitimisatie over de hele wereld tegen de staat Israël.
